Looking for the most impressive team and performance so far in the NBA Playoffs? Look no further than the Washington Wizards and their win last night over the Chicago Bulls.
After the Game 1 loss to the underdog Wizards, there was the feeling that maybe, if Chicago did more of this and less of that, maybe the outcome would have been different.
There is no feeling of that sort today, as those underdogs from the nation’s capital absorbed about the best punch the Bulls could deliver and still pulled out a hard fought 101-99 overtime victory in the ‘house that Michael built’.
Coming into the series, there was little question that the Wizards were more talented than the Bulls. At least, offensively. The question was; were they grown up enough and tough enough to win this series? Especially, if the Bulls tried to make it a street fight, so to speak.
The Bulls tried that tactic mid way through Game 2, and it failed.
Chicago, just doesn’t have the offensive firepower. Or, at least it’s not consistent. The Bulls were able to gain a 10 point lead late in the 4th quarter, but went ice cold down the stretch. The Wizards took advantage.
The series is far from over, but it may take a Herculean effort from an unexpected member of the Bulls to pull it out. Because, John Wall, Bradley Beal, Nene and the rest of the Wizards don’t look like they want to go fishing anytime soon……
