Michael Jordan’s infamous shrug after nailing his sixth three-pointer in Game 1 of the 1992 NBA Finals against the Portland Trail Blazers is our pick for this Throwback Thursday. Shooting the trifecta was never one of his strengths. But, on this night it was and the Blazers were not prepared.
LeBron and the Cavs, Steph Curry and the Warriors are about to do battle in what should be a great NBA Finals. However, this moment in NBA history is one example of why ‘His Airness’ is the real GOAT.
Lost in this moment is the classic reaction of Blazers forward Clifford Robinson . It’s almost as if, Robinson knew the Blazers had no shot in that series. He was right, even though the Blazers were no scrubs in their own right. Led by Clyde Drexler, Terry Porter, and the late Jerome Kersey, Portland was more than capable. It just wasn’t to be. Jordan, went on to snag the MVP as the Bulls finished off the Blazers in six games.
