After a 3-3 start to the season, The NFL Pick 6 – Week 2 is here. Today’s Prime Pick of the week has the New England Patriots traveling to face their divisional rival, the Buffalo Bills at Orchard Park. Other games we’ll look at include tonight’s rematch of last season’s NFC Championship Game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers. Let’s see if the Pick 6 can improve from last week’s 50/50 start. So, on to the picks…….
PATRIOTS at BILLS (-1) over/under: 44
Tyrod Taylor, was terrific as he and the Bills came through for the Pick 6 last week, beating a Super Bowl contender and their premier QB. This week, is kind of the same deal. Another Super Bowl contender. Another premier QB. Of course, there’s a little extra spice to this game. It’s the Patriots. The team that everyone wants to beat, and the team that’s the measuring stick for this Bills franchise, as they continue to build toward a successful future. It’s also about Rex Ryan, who if he knows all about one team, it’s the New England Patriots. He’s always known how to defend them. He just hasn’t had the personnel to execute his gameplan. He has the personnel today, and he has that raucous Ralph Wilson Stadium crowd behind him also. Take the Bills to get a huge win over the defending champs.
TITANS (-1) at BROWNS over/under: 41.5
Another QB that was terrific in week one was Marcus Mariota. He sliced and diced the Bucs D like a seasoned veteran. This week, should prove to be a lot different for the rookie from the land of the Quack Attack, especially with Delanie Walker inactive. The Browns will also defend much better than the Bucs. Joe Haden, could have a huge game if Mariota isn’t careful. However, the Browns may have to overcome a few mistakes by their own QB, Johnny Manziel, as he makes his first NFL start. The Titans defense made things tough on Jameis Winston. Look for the same today for Johnny Football. Take the Titans as Mariota makes one more play than Manziel in a low-scoring battle in Cleveland, by a field goal.
TEXANS at PANTHERS (-3) over/under: 41
Texans head coach, Bill O’Brien, has decided on Ryan Mallett to start this game at Carolina. His third career start. The Panthers have been licking their chops ever since. The Texans defense was pretty bad against an average Chiefs offense last week. Can Cam Newton and the Panthers repeat that feat this week? Probably not, but they probably won’t have to. The defense should have things under control. Take the Panthers to beat Houston by close to a touchdown.
49ERS at STEELERS (-5.5) over/under: 46
The 49ers D looked like they hadn’t lost a step in Monday night’s win over the Vikings. They face a totally different animal today, that’s had three extra days of rest. The Steelers moved the ball up and down the field against New England, but continuously shot themselves in the foot. Look for Big Ben and Antonio Brown to clean that up and have big games, as the Niners struggle with that long trip to the east coast and the early kickoff. Take the Steelers to cover the 5 plus a hook and bounce back with a win over San Francisco.
RAVENS at RAIDERS (-4) over/under: 41
Joe Flacco, and the Ravens got off to a bad start last week against the Broncos. But, that was the Broncos. One of the NFL’s better defenses. Still, 176 total yards is a reason for alarm in Baltimore. That should change today. The Raiders should have Derek Carr , who was injured in last Sunday’s loss to Cincinnati. The Ravens will be without all-pro linebacker, Terrell Suggs for the rest of the season. But, today it shouldn’t matter. Take the Ravens to bounce back today against the Raiders.
SEAHAWKS at PACKERS (-3.5) over/under: 48.5
The Seahawks had a tough loss in St. Louis last week, as Pete Carroll’s usual roll the dice coaching mentality backfired. With that said, it’s pretty hard to imagine the two-time defending NFC champs going 0-2, but that’s what they face. They also face another week without Kam Chancellor , who continues his holdout. Aaron Rodgers and company have to have revenge on their mind, and with the game being aged at Lambeau in front of the Cheeseheads, expect Green Bay to win. Take the Packers by 7 – 10 points.
